Sickness Rates at Stevenage Homes Second Highest in the County

Figures released by Stevenage Borough Council (SBC) show sickness rates at SBC to be the highest in the Hertfordshire, with Stevenage Home coming in second to bottom.

SBC employees took on average 12.20 full time equivalent (FTE) days off sick a year. Stevenage Homes employees averaged 11.6 FTE. No other body made it into double figures.

The sorry state of affairs at SBC was reported in the Comet on July 15 along with comment from local councillors. There was no mention of the situation at Stevenage Homes.

The Comet story says absenteeism at the SBC has cost £422,329. No similar figure at Stevenage Homes is given.
