Housing Futures Option Appraisal Meeting Today
Stevenage Homes was formed to access the “Decent Homes” fund. However, there have been changes to government rules for accessing future funds in financing social
housing. Councils are now looking at how Social Housing will be managed and maintained in the future.
The Chartered Institute of Housing has been commissioned a short life project, which will be concluded in June 2011, looking at options either:
- Maintain Stevenage Homes Limited as a separate Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO)
- Revert managing the housing services back to the Council (and how this can be achieved)
- Look at different variations of this theme.
At tonight’s meeting Hilary Vaughan from the Chartered Institute of Housing will meet with leaseholders to update them on progress made.
